Croatian international Danijel Pranjić has joined Sporting Clube de Portugal from FC Bayern München, signing a three-year deal with the Lions.
The left-sided midfielder was a free agent after leaving the German club, where he scored once in 55 Bundesliga appearances over three seasons. The 30-year-old has a release clause in his contract of €15m. Pranjić, formerly of NK Osijek, GNK Dinamo Zagreb and sc Heerenveen, played in group games against Italy and Spain at UEFA EURO 2012.
Sporting, fourth-place finishers in the Liga last season and defeated by A. Académica de Coimbra in the Portuguese Cup final, begin their UEFA Europa League campaign in the play-offs.
