Xäzär Länkäran FK followed up last week's 2-2 home draw against JK Nõmme Kalju with a two-goal victory in Estonia to earn their first win in European competition and a place in the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round.
Things looked good for the Azerbaijani Premier League runners-up when they took the lead through Ruslan Abışov (41). An equaliser would have eliminated them, but Yunis Huseynov's men stood firm and the team's maiden triumph was rubber-stamped five minutes from time by Branimir Subašić.
It was the forward's second goal of the tie and secured the club's first continental success in 12 attempts. KKS Lech Poznań or FC Zhetysu Taldykorgan await in the next stage of the competition.
Following their 8-0 defeat of Floriana FC last week, IF Elfsborg put a further four goals without reply past the Maltese outfit in the second leg, captain Daniel Mobaeck (19), Oscar Hiljemark (50), Per Frick (67) and Viktor Claesson sending Di Gule into a tie against either FC Dacia Chişinău or NK Celje on the back of a resounding aggregate win.
Portadown FC will play NK Slaven Koprivnica in the next round after following up a 0-0 away draw against FK Shkëndija 79 with a 2-1 win – their first European home victory since October 1974. Elsewhere, KF Tirana's 2-0 first-leg lead proved insurmountable for CS Grevenmacher, a 0-0 stalemate earning the Albanian Cup winners the right to play Norway's Aalesunds FK.
