Rafik Djebbour said he is enjoying his most "complete season" after the Algeria striker added another goal to his tally to send Olympiacos FC through to a UEFA Europa League round of 16 tie against FC Metalist Kharkiv – for which they may be missing injured goalkeeper Roy Carroll – at the expense of FC Rubin Kazan, for whom Obafemi Martins lamented missed opportunities.
Rafik Djebbour, Olympiacos forward
I love to score in these games. I think the team played well overall and we went into this game with plenty of ambition and thanks to that we scored an early goal. The important thing is that we got through to the next round.
I have improved a lot since I came to Greece, especially here at Olympiacos, and for the moment I would say that this is the complete season. Everything is open, we know we have a good team and we have many ambitions. We are in the championship, the Greek Cup and also in Europe so it could be a big season.
Roy Carroll, Olympiacos goalkeeper
It was a difficult game and the team gave everything to keep a clean sheet. I had a problem with my hamstring but I kept on until the end for the fans and for my team-mates. I will probably be sidelined for two or three weeks but for the time being I want to enjoy the moment.
Obafemi Martins, Rubin forward
I think we could have done better in both games. Today we had a few chances and didn't take them while Olympiacos had one good chance and managed to score and we are out of the competition. I believe if we had scored in the first half with one of our opportunities then maybe something different could have happened, but we didn’t manage to do it and things became more difficult for us. Olympiacos are a good side and they showed it, especially in the second half. They made the most of their chances.
It's quite difficult when you change clubs regularly, it is definitely better to stay at a club for a longer period so you have time to adapt. But I'm getting used to life in Russia now and I'm hoping things continue to go well.
