Fulham FC have announced that defender Zdeněk Grygera is likely to be out of action for six months after damaging an anterior cruciate ligament.
The former AC Sparta Praha and AFC Ajax player, who joined Fulham from Juventus in the summer, was taken off midway through his side's 3-1 home defeat by fellow UEFA Europa League contenders Tottenham Hotspur FC on Sunday. The west London club said: "It is estimated that the recovery period for an injury of this nature is approximately six months."
The 31-year-old former Czech international has featured once in his team's group stage campaign and five times in the Premier League. Fulham lie second in Group K and will be certain of progressing to the round of 32 if they win away to section leaders FC Twente on matchday 5.
