Midfielder Moritz Stoppelkamp is likely to miss Hannover 96's UEFA Europa League trip to FC Vorskla Poltava on 29 September after suffering a calf problem in training on Thursday.
The injury will keep the 24-year-old, who has made four substitute appearances for Hannover this season but played all 90 minutes of their 2-1 win against Borussia Dortmund last weekend, out of his side's Bundesliga visit to FC Augsburg on Saturday.
Although the length of Stoppelkamp's lay-off remains unclear, the former SC Rot-Weiß Oberhausen man's involvement in next Thursday's game in Ukraine looks in serious doubt.
Hannover lie fifth in the German standings, four points behind leaders FC Bayern München, and are two points short of UEFA Europa League Group B pacesetters FC København after a goalless draw with R. Standard de Liège on matchday one.
