FC Dynamo Kyiv striker Andriy Shevchenko has been ruled out of the UEFA Europa League play-off first leg against PFC Litex Lovech after the Ukrainian international suffered a broken jaw during Saturday's 2-0 top-flight victory at FC Arsenal Kyiv.
Shevchenko, 34, has scored three goals in five Premier League games for the capital club this season, including a penalty in Saturday's win over Arsenal, but now faces a spell on the sidelines. He will travel abroad this week to determine the best course of treatment. Dynamo, beaten by FC Rubin Kazan in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round, play Bulgarian champions Litex in Lovech on 18 August before the return match in Kyiv on 25 August.
