Former Portugal midfielder Tiago has signed a two-year deal with Club Atlético de Madrid after spending much of the last two seasons on loan at the UEFA Europa League contenders.
The 30-year-old has had the remainder of his contract with Juventus cancelled, allowing him to strike a permanent deal with Atlético, who meet Norway's Strømsgodset IF in the first leg of their third qualifying round tie next week.
The former SC Braga, SL Benfica, Chelsea FC and Olympique Lyonnais player, who was capped 58 times by his country, has scored six times in 49 Spanish Liga games for Atlético. He did not feature in their 2009/10 UEFA Europa League triumph since he was cup-tied, having appeared for Juventus in the UEFA Champions League that season, when Atlético played in that group stage.
