Netherlands midfielder Demy de Zeeuw has joined UEFA Europa League hopefuls FC Spartak Moskva from AFC Ajax for a fee believed to be in the region of €7m.
The 28-year-old is Spartak's first signing of the summer and has linked up with his new team-mates at their mid-season training camp in Austria. The Russian club say De Zeeuw has signed a "long-term contract".
Former Go Ahead Eagles player De Zeeuw lifted his second Dutch title with Ajax last season, having won the Eredivisie in his final campaign at AZ Alkmaar in 2008/09. Capped 27 times, he was a member of the Netherlands squad that finished runners-up at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
A fourth-place finish in 2010 earned Spartak entry to the 2011/12 UEFA Europa League play-off round on 18 and 25 August. They are seventh in Russia's Premier-Liga after 16 matches.
