Nuno Gomes has signed a 12-month deal at SC Braga following the 34-year-old forward's departure from SL Benfica.
The former Portuguese international joins last season's UEFA Europa League runners-up as a free agent after his contract with Benfica expired in June. He said: "I hope to score many goals and help Braga achieve their targets. I can promise commitment. It was easy to reach an agreement with the club."
Having started his career with Boavista FC, Nuno Gomes spent 12 seasons at Benfica either side of a two-year spell in Italy with ACF Fiorentina. He scored 126 goals in 292 league games for the Eagles, winning Portuguese titles in 2004/05 and 2009/10, but did not start a match last term. Braga will compete in the UEFA Europa League play-offs after finishing fourth in the Liga.
