Julien Féret has sealed a return to Stade Rennais FC after leaving AS Nancy-Lorraine for an undisclosed fee.
The 28-year-old striker has signed a contract running until 2014 with the club he represented between 2000 and 2003, without making a top-flight appearance. He had spells in the second tier at Chamois Niortais FC and Stade de Reims Champagne before finally making his Ligue 1 bow at Nancy in 2008.
"I had high expectations when I came to Rennes at 18," said the forward, who scored 21 goals in 120 league appearances for Nancy. "I left very disappointed at 20 but there was no anger towards the club. It's good to be coming back."
Rennes, who signed goalkeeper Benoît Costil, 23, last week, kick off their UEFA Europa League campaign in the third qualifying round.
