Gregorio Manzano has returned for a second spell as coach of Club Atlético de Madrid having left his post at Sevilla FC at the end of the season.
Manzano, who steered Atlético to a seventh-placed Liga finish during his previous stint at the helm, in 2003/04, has signed a one-year deal at the Vicente Calderón. He returns to the capital club following eight months in charge of Sevilla, who he took to fifth in the top flight last term but nevertheless failed to earn an extended contract.
He replaces Quique Sánchez Flores, who won the 2010 UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup during his 18 months in charge. Atlético finished seventh in the Liga last season and will enter the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round.
