FC Porto have indicated that Jorge Fucile could miss the remainder of the season after the Uruguayan full-back fractured his left collarbone.
The 26-year-old, who has played ten times in the competition this season, suffered the blow in Thursday's 5-2 win at FC Spartak Moskva in the second leg of their UEFA Europa League quarter-final, the injury forcing him to be replaced by Cristian Săpunaru after 28 minutes.
Tests on Friday have since revealed the extent of the problem and the club does not expect him to play any further part in their European campaign. Porto face Villarreal CF in the semi-finals, hosting the Spanish side on 28 April before the return on 5 May.
