Brazilian defender Jardel Vieira will join SL Benfica from Portuguese Liga rivals SC Olhanense subject to a medical today.
The clubs announced they have agreed an undisclosed fee for the 24-year-old, who is set to pen a deal that ties him to the Lisbon giants until 2016. Jardel, a 192cm centre-back, has caught the eye this season for Algarve outfit Olhanense having joined from second tier GD Estoril-Praia last summer.
Jardel will become Benfica's second signing of the transfer window following last week's capture of Argentina winger José Luis Fernández. The Eagles take on VfB Stuttgart in the UEFA Europa League round of 32 on 17 and 24 February having transferred from the UEFA Champions League.
