Already out of the running for the UEFA Europa League round of 32, Getafe CF will look to cling on to third place in Group H and avenge a 2-0 Matchday 2 defeat by BSC Young Boys, with the Swiss side certain of finishing second.

• Young Boys trail section leaders VfB Stuttgart by three points, but cannot catch the German side due to their inferior head-to-head record. Getafe are level on points with Odense BK but have a superior head-to-head record, and will hold on to third place provided they do not get a worse result against Young Boys than the Danish side manage at Stuttgart.

Previous meetings
• Two goals from David Degen earned Young Boys a 2-0 win when the sides met for the first time on Matchday 2. It was Getafe's first meeting with a Swiss side.

• Young Boys' record in five games against Spanish opposition reads W3 D0 L2 (W1 D0 L1 in Spain). Getafe's near neighbours Real Madrid CF lost 1-0 in Berne in the 1986/87 European Champion Clubs' Cup, but recovered to win the second leg 5-0, with Getafe coach Míchel featuring in both legs.

Match background
• Young Boys are featuring in the group stage of a UEFA club competition for the first time.

• Getafe's 3-0 loss to Stuttgart on Matchday 4 was their worst ever result at home in UEFA club competition.

• Young Boys have conceded nine times and failed to register in their last three European away fixtures.

Team facts
• One of the five locally born players at the heart of Madrid's successful 1980s and 1990s sides – dubbed the Quinta del Buitre (the Vulture's Cohort, in honour of their leader Emilio Butragueño) – Míchel won six Spanish titles and two UEFA Cups as a Madrid player. Initially a TV pundit after retirement, Míchel went into coaching with Rayo Vallecano, joining Getafe in April 2009 after a spell with Real Madrid's academy.

• Young Boys' Sarajevo-born coach Vladimir Petković was a midfielder for FK Sarajevo as well as a number of Swiss clubs. As a coach, he worked his way up from assistant at AC Bellinzona to lead AC Lugano, then Bellinzona, before taking charge of Young Boys in 2008.
