Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund will be without Lucas Barrios for Thursday's UEFA Europa League home tie against FC Karpaty Lviv after their leading scorer injured his right knee at the weekend.

Striker Barrios picked up the problem during Dortmund's 4-1 win against VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday, and will play no part against Group J's bottom side as Jürgen Klopp's team look to stay in qualifying contention.

The German club are three points behind second-placed Paris Saint-Germain FC with two games to play and four off leaders Sevilla FC, the opposition in their final match on 15 December.

Paraguayan international Barrios, 26, has scored eight times already in the Bundesliga and once in the UEFA Europa League group stage this term. He is also expected to sit out Dortmund's next Bundesliga fixture, at 1. FC Nürnberg on Sunday.
