RSC Anderlecht are likely to be deprived of midfielder Lucas Biglia's services for next week's UEFA Europa League group stage assignment against AEK Athens FC after he tore a hamstring in domestic action.
The 24-year-old former CA Independiente player was forced off at half-time of Wednesday's Belgian Cup tie against third-division URS Centre, and a scan today revealed the extent of the damage. No timescale has been set for his recovery.
Les Mauves et Blancs, who have also lost captain Olivier Deschacht for several months with an ankle injury, will be without Biglia for the UEFA Europa League Group G encounter with AEK in Greece on 4 November. Anderlecht lie second in the section with three points from three matches.
The Brussels club defeated URS Centre on penalties to reach the last 16 of the cup.
