Late Silvio strike gets Lausanne off the mark

Silvio bundled in an equaliser in the sixth minute of added time against AC Sparta Praha to earn FC Lausanne-Sport their first point in UEFA Europa League Group F.

Goals from Wilfried Bony either side of Juraj Kucka's 21st-minute effort sent the hosts in at half-time 3-1 up after Sébastien Meoli had headed the Swiss club into an early lead. However, Martin Steuble set up a nervy final 15 minutes with a sublime curling effort, though it looked as if the game was up for Lausanne until Silvio struck, turning the ball in from close range after Meoli diverted Nicolas Marazzi's free-kick against the crossbar.

Lausanne had not scored in their two previous group matches so it was somewhat of a surprise when Meoli firmly met Marazzi's corner at the near post. Their advantage lasted all of four minutes, however, as Bony controlled Libor Sionko's cross on his chest and fired past Anthony Favre.

Kucka put Jozef Chovanec's team ahead by turning in a cross from Ondřej Kušnír which had evaded everyone on its way to the far post, while only Favre's reflexes denied Bony after Manuel Pamić had pulled the ball back from the byline. Bony was celebrating again less than 60 second later, though, taking Kucka's pass in his stride and waiting for Favre to go to ground before chipping in the fourth goal of an incident-filled 23 minutes.

The first half was always going to be a hard act to follow, although Kucka did his best to add to the scoring six minutes after the restart with a free-kick which Favre beat out. Steuble, twice, and Bigambo Rochat were off target for the visitors before Erich Brabec headed Sionko's corner against the upright.

Steuble did find his range when he dispossessed Bony outside the area and bent a shot beyond Jaromír Blažek. There was still more drama to come, however, as Silvio struck with the last kick of the game.
