Manchester City FC and Juventus could not be separated in the headline act on Matchday 2 of the UEFA Europa League, but plenty of other sides took big steps to improving their qualification credentials while there were mixed fortunes for the new coaches on show – watch highlights from all the games.

The Group A meeting at the City of Manchester Stadium was billed as the big game of the night and it ended 1-1, Adam Johnson cancelling out Vincenzo Iaquinta's opener. While Manchester City could not repeat their win of a fortnight ago, seven other sides managed to make it two victories from two, including the pacesetters in Group L, Beşiktaş JK and FC Porto.

Sporting Clube de Portugal put five past PFC Levski Sofia to keep up their 100% record, while FC BATE Borisov were also among the goals, beating AZ Alkmaar 4-1. FC Zenit St. Petersburg are two from two after a 4-2 win against AEK Athens FC – taking the Russian side's goal tally to seven for the group stage. It was a tough introduction for the Greek club's caretaker coach Bledar Kola, who was taking charge of his first game.

Marius Lăcătuş was also in the dugout for his first match at FC Steaua Bucureşti, albeit in his third spell as the team's boss. It looked as if the return of Lăcătuş had done the trick as they sped into a 3-0 lead against SSC Napoli – the club's first goals in 12 games against Italian opposition. However, Pantelis Kapetanos was sent off soon after and the visitors completed a dramatic recovery in the final minute of added time to secure a 3-3 draw.

Gregorio Manzano had a better debut to remember, as his Sevilla FC team got off the mark in Group J with a 1-0 win at Borussia Dortmund in a section that is led by another side sporting maximum points, Paris Saint-Germain FC. FC Sheriff provided perhaps the shock of the night by beating FC Dynamo Kyiv 2-0. Watch all the Matchday 2 goals or follow the individual match links listed on the right of this page.
