US Città di Palermo have continued to strengthen for their UEFA Europa League bid with the signing of Argentinian left-back Santiago García from CA Rosario Central for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old, who broke into the Rosario first team in 2008, has signed a contract running until 2015 for the club who finished fifth in Serie A last season. García joins a long list of Palermo summer signings including defenders Matteo Darmian and Kamil Glik, midfielder Pajtim Kasami, strikers Mauricio Pinilla and Massimo Maccarone, and now 27-year-old goalkeeper Giacomo Brichetto, who after a season on loan from Novara Calcio has agreed a three-season contract. Palermo will discover their UEFA Europa League play-off opponents on 6 August, with the tie on the last two Thursdays of next month.
