FC Lokomotiv Moskva have signed defender Roman Shishkin from capital rivals FC Spartak Moskva for the rest of the season.
As well as securing his services in the short term, Lokomotiv have the option of extending the right-back's stay for a further three years. "I've been short of first-team football recently but I'm in pretty good shape because I came through a full training camp with Spartak," said Shishkin, who has been capped once by Russia. "I didn't think long about Loko's offer, and the rest depended on the clubs."
Shishkin, who can also operate as a holding midfielder, made his Spartak debut in July 2004 and played 54 top-flight games for the club, scoring once. The 23-year-old was loaned to PFC Krylya Sovetov Samara last season. He returned to Spartak but has not featured for the Red-Whites this term. Lokomotiv finished fourth in the 2009 Russian Premier League and will start their UEFA Europa League campaign in the play-offs on 19 and 26 August.
