VfB Stuttgart have paid Juventus a reported €3.9m for the services of left-back Cristian Molinaro, who spent the second half of the season on loan at the Bundesliga club.
The 26-year-old made 17 league appearances as Stuttgart finished the season with an eight-match unbeaten run to claim sixth position and a place in the qualifying rounds of the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League. "There were many reasons for making this decision," said Molinaro, who has signed a four-year contract with the German side. "The city is great. The Bundesliga is very entertaining and I've been able to make friends outside of the club as well."
Stuttgart's sporting director Jochen Schneider added: "We're very happy to have managed to keep Cristian for next season. We should emphasise we have signed a top player from Juventus; Cristian is one of the best left-backs in the Bundesliga and he fitted into our team immediately."
