R. Standard de Liège could be without captain Steven Defour for up to six weeks with a muscle tear to his backside.
The 21-year-old sustained the injury during Standard's 3-1 UEFA Europa League win at Panathinaikos FC on Thursday and had to be replaced after 22 minutes. "It happened when I sprinted forward for Milan Jovanović's goal," Defour said. "I felt the pain, but went on to pass as Jovanović ran away from the defender."
Defour will certainly miss the visit of Panathinaikos for Standard's round of 16 return leg next Thursday and is expected to be out for a month at the minimum. The Belgian international had only returned from a broken foot in January, an injury that had kept him sidelined since 12 September. "It's been a disaster of a season," he added.
