SL Benfica president Luís Filipe Vieira has confirmed that the Lisbon giants have signed 20-year-old striker Alan Kardec from Brazilian side CR Vasco da Gama, promising that the UEFA Europa League contenders had at least one more player lined up.

'Another signing'
Reports suggest that a fee of around €2.5m has been paid for the Brazil Under-20 international, with Vieira explaining: "Kardec is already a Benfica player and on 28 December there will be another signing." The Eagles are second in the Portuguese Liga, level on points with leaders SC Braga after beating champions FC Porto 1-0 last weekend. Benfica meet Hertha BSC Berlin in the UEFA Europa League round of 32 on 18 and 23 February.
