CFR bid to bow out on a high

The game is up for CFR 1907 Cluj as they take on section winners PSV Eindhoven in their final Group K game bidding to end a four-match UEFA Europa League losing streak.

• CFR's fate was sealed when they lost 2-0 at FC København on Matchday 5, while PSV's 1-0 win against AC Sparta Praha on the same night confirmed that they would be seeded in Friday's round of 32 draw as winners of the group.

Previous meetings
• PSV earned a 1-0 victory when the sides met for the first time on Matchday 2, with CFR facing Dutch opponents for the first time. PSV have been to Romania twice before, recording a 3-0 win and then a 1-0 loss against FC Steaua Bucureşti.

Match background
• Having appeared in the five most recent UEFA Champions League group-stage campaigns, PSV never played in the equivalent phase of the UEFA Cup. CFR did not appear in the UEFA Cup group stage but did feature in last season's UEFA Champions League, triumphing 2-1 at AS Roma on Matchday 1 before finishing bottom of their section.

• CFR have won five of their home games in European competition, while AS Saint-Etienne, RC Lens and Chelsea FC were all held to draws in Cluj.

• Back in the Netherlands after a one-season absence, PSV coach Fred Rutten spent his entire playing career and much of his time as a trainer at FC Twente. He previously worked at PSV with the youth team and as assistant to Guus Hiddink in his second spell at the club, from 2002 to 2006.

• CFR – the intials stand for Căile Ferate Române, Romania's national railway – changed their coach on 15 November. António Conceição, who was appointed in April and led CFR to Romanian Cup success last season, was replaced by former FC Internazionale Milano player Andrea Mandorlini.

• The 49-year-old had been coaching in Italy since 1993, most notably guiding Atalanta BC to promotion to Serie A in 2003/04. As a player, he did not come up against Dutch opposition.
