Milan Baroš will miss the remainder of Galatasaray AŞ's UEFA Europa League campaign after breaking bones in his foot during Sunday's 3-1 Istanbul derby defeat by Fenerbahçe SK.

Metatarsal bones
The 27-year-old Czech striker was injured within a minute of kick-off in a challenge with Fenerbahçe's Emre Belözoğlu, breaking the second and third metatarsal bones in his left foot. Last season's Süper Lig top scorer with 20 goals, Baroš had struck five in nine league games this season as well as two since the start of the UEFA Europa League group stage campaign.

Able deputy
Congolese striker Shabani Nonda is likely to be first choice to deputise for Baroš for the remainder of his side's Group F campaign, with games against FC Dinamo 1948 Bucureşti, Panathinaikos FC and SK Sturm Graz to come in November and December. Galatasaray are top of the section with seven points from three matches and can confirm a place in the last 32 on Matchday 4 if a win at Dinamo coincides with Sturm dropping points at home to Panathinaikos.
