The 26-year-old, who had a contract with AZ until the summer of 2011, has put pen to paper on a four-year deal at the Amsterdam ArenA. De Zeeuw joined AZ ahead of the 2005/06 season from second-tier outfit Go Ahead Eagles and soon developed into a key player under then coach Louis van Gaal, scoring 15 goals in 119 league appearances and helping the club to only their second Eredivisie title last term. Martin Jol's Ajax enter the inaugural UEFA Europa League in the Play-Offs on 20 and 27 August.
