Toulouse plump for Paulo Machado

UEFA Europa League play-off participants Toulouse FC have signed defensive midfielder Paulo Machado from FC Porto on a four-year contract.

The 23-year-old moves for an undisclosed fee after spending last season in Ligue 1 on loan at AS Saint-Etienne where he took part in 35 top-flight games. "The club were in touch with me every day during my holidays," said Paulo Machado. "That gave me my desire to come here especially with Toulouse playing in the Europa League, which will be good for me."
