First test
The 40-year-old former Stockport County FC defender and manager was formally unveiled at a press conference earlier today and succeeds Mark McGhee, who joined Scottish Premier League rivals Aberdeen FC. Gannon will be in charge for Thursday's UEFA Europa League first qualifying round first leg against Welsh club Llanelli AFC. Meanwhile, Scotland striker David Clarkson has left Motherwell, joining English second-tier side Bristol City FC in a €1m deal.
