Chygrynskiy honours debt to Shakhtar fans

Dmytro Chygrynskiy says FC Shakhtar Donetsk "have no right" to disappoint their home fans as they look to build on a 1-1 draw at FC Dynamo Kyiv and ensure they are Ukraine's representatives in the UEFA Cup final.

'No right'
One of the two Premier League rivals are guaranteed a place in the UEFA Cup final in Istanbul on 20 May, but while defender Chygrynskiy – who inadvertently scored Dynamo's opener in Kiev last week – knows the result of the decider in Donetsk is no foregone conclusion, he cannot bear the idea of letting Shakhtar's supporters down. "Our home stadium is always full for European matches, but this is a special case and I think the support will be just incredible," the 22-year-old said. "We have come so far in the UEFA Cup this season, and have no right to disappoint our fans now."

Test of nerves
Mircea Lucescu's side will be heading for Istanbul if they can keep a clean sheet against Dynamo, yet Chygrynskiy does not expect Dynamo to go for broke as they seek to get on the scoresheet. "I think it will be a very difficult, nervy game as we know each other so well," the Ukrainian international centre-back said. "For me, the away goal doesn't give us much of an advantage. I don't think Dynamo will try to push us back any more than they usually do. They will not be so naive as that could create space for us on the counterattack."

Recent form
The Pitmen can take confidence from recent form. They have won 2-0 in all their 2008/09 UEFA Cup home games and beat the Bilo-Syni, as Dynamo are nicknamed for their white and blue colours, 1-0 in their last meeting in Donetsk last November – Willian scoring the goal. That result is no great comfort for Chygrynskiy though. "We haven't looked over that last home match because they were a different Dynamo then. Now it's quite a new team so we have analysed more of their recent outings."
