Olympique de Marseille have suffered a significant blow after confirming that midfielder Karim Ziani will be out "for four to five weeks" due to the recurrence of a groin problem.

Shakhtar test
The 26-year-old Algerian international will undergo surgery on Monday in an attempt to fix an ongoing problem with his groin. While coach Erik Gerets insists Ziani "will be back for the end-of-season run-in", the former FC Sochaux-Montbéliard and FC Lorient man is set to miss a crucial stage of Marseille's season, with the side still in the reckoning for Ligue 1 and UEFA Cup titles. Friday's draw paired Les Phocéens with FC Shakhtar Donetsk in the quarter-finals of the European competitions, with the games on 9 and 16 April.
