England Under-21 international Matt Derbyshire has joined Greek Super League leaders Olympiacos CFP from hometown side Blackburn Rovers FC on loan until the end of the season.
Limited opportunities
The 22-year-old striker has endured a frustrating season at Ewood Park, with first-team opportunities limited as Benni McCarthy, Roque Santa Cruz and Jason Roberts are all ahead of him in the pecking order. Only five of Derbyshire's 17 Premier League appearances this term have come from the start, and he travels to Greece in search of playing time. He joins an Olympiacos side eleven points clear at the Greek summit and through to the UEFA Cup Round of 32, where they will face French club AS Saint-Etienne.
