ACF Fiorentina have taken up the option to extend the contract of Danish international defender Per Krøldrup by a year until summer 2010.
Unhappy spell
The 29-year-old joined the Viola three years ago after a six-month spell at Everton FC in which he played just twice following a €6.8m move from Udinese Calcio. Krøldrup, who spent four seasons with Udinese after leaving his first club B 93 København in 2001, has made eleven Serie A appearances for Fiorentina this season, and 64 in total. Having been eliminated from the UEFA Champions League, Cesare Prandelli's side meet AFC Ajax in the UEFA Cup Round of 32 next month.
