Lech look for luck in Rotterdam

The party is already over for Feyenoord, but they will be eager to atone for a miserable Group H campaign by beating KKS Lech Poznań on Matchday 5, with the Polish side needing a win to have any chance of progressing.

• Having lost their opening three games, Gertjan Verbeek's side are already out of the competition, but there is still hope for Lech, who drew 1-1 against RC Deportivo La Coruña on Matchday 4.

• A win would almost certainly see Lech qualify, provided that Deportivo and AS Nancy-Lorraine do not draw in the evening's other Group H game. If Lech win and Deportivo and Nancy draw, the three sides will be level on five points, with goal difference, goals scored and then goals scored away deciding the final positions.

• Group positions play an important role in the draw for the Round of 32. Group winners will be paired with third-placed sides from other UEFA Cup sections, while second-placed finishers will be drawn against one of the eight sides who finished third in the UEFA Champions League groups. The UEFA Cup group winners and runners-up will play the second leg at home.

• Feyenoord have never come up against the new-look Lech, or indeed KS Amica Wronki and the old Lech Poznań, with the former having taken on the latter's name in 2006 following a merger.

• Feyenoord have played nine games against Polish sides, with their record reading W5 D3 L1. They have won all five of their home ties with teams from Poland by two-goal margins – three 3-1s and two 2-0s.

• This is Verbeek's first game against a Polish club, and Lech coach Franciszek Smuda's first meeting with Dutch opponents.

• Feyenoord have lost both of their UEFA Cup home games this year and have won only once in their last seven European matches at De Kuip, with their record reading W1 D3 L3.

• Amica played three games against Dutch sides, losing all three – two at home and one in the Netherlands. The old Lech never played against a club from the Netherlands.

• Lech have not won in their last three UEFA Cup away games. Their record in four UEFA Cup away matches this season reads W1 D1 L2.

• Lech are the only Polish side left in European competition this season.

• Lech's Manuel Arboleda, Sławomir Peszko, Semir Stilić and Zlatko Tanevski are all within a booking of a one-match ban.

• The draw for the UEFA Cup Round of 32 (when teams from the same association cannot be drawn against each other) and Round of 16 will be held at UEFA Headquarters in Nyon on Friday 19 December at 13.00CET.
