'A special moment'
"It is a special moment in my career," said the 28-year-old, who has joined the club from FC Barcelona. "I think every player dreams of wearing the Milan shirt. I hope to give joy to my new fans. First I want to thank them for the way they have welcomed me and for the love they are showing." The move is already paying off for the Rossoneri, with over 5,000 season tickets being sold in the day after the Brazilian's move to Milan was announced.
Place to be
Milan will play in the UEFA Cup this season after finishing fifth in Serie A last term, but Ronaldinho is eager to help the Rossoneri back into the UEFA Champions League in 2009/10. "Anyone who has played in the Champions League knows how important that competition is," he said. "My goal is to return to play it with the Milan shirt. I came here to win trophies with a team which already has plenty of silverware."
Kaká connection
FIFA World Player of the Year in 2004 and 2005, Ronaldinho will link up with 2007 award winner and fellow Brazilian Kaká at Milan. "It will be great to play with him because I consider him one of the best footballers in the world," Ronaldinho said. "He is also a good friend of mine and we have played and won important games for Brazil together. I don't think I will have any kind of problem adapting to my new team. I'm here to bring joy and success."
