Steven Naismith and Chris Burke could miss both legs of Rangers FC's UEFA Cup semi-final against ACF Fiorentina after picking up injuries on Sunday.
Semi-final win
Naismith sustained damaged his knee and Burke a knock to his ankle as Rangers beat Saint Johnstone FC on penalties after a 1-1 draw in their Scottish Cup semi-final. "Naismith and Burke have no chance of playing [in the first leg] on Thursday," said manager Walter Smith. "At this stage it doesn't look like they will be able to feature in either of the Fiorentina games or against Celtic [FC] this Sunday."
Injury crisis
Smith is already without Allan McGregor, Lee McCulloch, Charlie Adam and DaMarcus Beasley while captain Barry Ferguson and fellow midfielder Kevin Thomson are suspended for the opener against the Viola. Striker Kris Boyd is also recovering from a bout of food poisoning which prevented him from featuring against St Johnstone.
