Michael Laudrup, Getafe coach
We are very disappointed because we played so well and put pressure on them from the start, but with Rubén De la Red's dismissal and Ikechukwu Uche's injury, we lost control of the game. We were fantastic though. We played with ten men for 114 minutes and we attacked and created two or three chances to have won the tie. We knew it would be difficult but we tried because we were facing famous opponents. We will be very happy with our performance in two or three days' time but right now it is very difficult. Next week we play the final of the Copa del Rey and I think we have a chance to win because we are a strong side. I am delighted with the players and I want to congratulate them on what they have done. This tie will go down in Getafe's history.
Ottmar Hitzfeld, Bayern coach
Getafe helped to produce a fantastic match. They were the better team on the night. They had a slight advantage from the first leg and obviously when they scored that advantage increased. Rubén De la Red's sending-off had a positive effect on Getafe because they became more focused – and a negative one for Bayern because we performed badly. I am satisfied with the result because we are in the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup, but I am very disappointed with some of my players. Yet, at 3-1, we never gave up and eventually we got our reward. We are used to having the ball all the time but we did not make the most of the space we created. I hope Getafe now win the Copa del Rey. They deserve huge credit.
