Injured Ángel eyes Zenit return

Villarreal CF defender Ángel López will miss the first leg of the UEFA Cup tie against FC Zenit St. Petersburg after he was injured playing for Spain.

Knee problem
The 26-year-old right-back took a knock to his right knee during the 1-0 win for Luis Aragonés's team against France, and faces a ten-day lay-off. Ángel, signed from RC Celta de Vigo last summer, will therefore sit out the first match of Villarreal's Round of 32 meeting with Russian champions Zenit next Wednesday. He is expected to be fit for the return leg at El Madrigal on 21 February. Ángel has made 14 Spanish league appearances this season.
