Two late goals at NK Dinamo Zagreb ensured Hamburger SV maintained their 100 per cent record in this season's UEFA Cup and booked their place in the Round of 32.

Dinamo task
Dinamo, with one point in the group to Hamburg's six before tonight, gave the former European champions a real test but could not grab a goal and with two minutes left Nigel de Jong headed the visitors in front. Substitute Piotr Trochowski's injury-time penalty sealed the victory to keep UEFA Intertoto Cup winners Hamburg top of Group D. They will confirm that position with a home draw against the only side that can catch them, FC Basel 1893, on 20 December. Dinamo, meanwhile, must produce a two-goal win at Stade Rennais FC to pip SK Brann.

Early efforts
The home side began strongly, and within five minutes Hamburg defender Bastian Reinhardt had to react smartly to clear Luka Modrić's inswinging corner from danger. But it was the visitors who had the first real opportunity in the 18th minute as David Jarolím's fantastic long-range strike skimmed the crossbar.

Goalkeepers tested
Just before the half-hour mark, Ognjen Vukojević’s effort from the edge of the area went just wide and Dinamo came close again as Nikola Pokrivač forced Frank Rost into a save with a fierce shot. At the other end, Georg Koch tipped Vincent Kompany's strike past the post, and the Dinamo goalkeeper had a busy night from there on in.

Decisive strikes
But he was only beaten as time ran out, De Jong rising highest to head in Rafael van der Vaart's free-kick. Worse was to come for the Croatian champions as Hrvoje Čale fouled Guy Demel in the area and his fellow replacement Trochowski made no mistake from the spot.
