The 26-year-old had been linked with a move to Premier League rivals West Ham United FC during the winter transfer window, but has now signed a new deal to replace the initial five-year contract he signed on joining the club from Crystal Palace FC in 2006. "We are absolutely delighted, it is fantastic news for Evertonians," said chairman Bill Kenwright. "This deal further underlines our commitment to keep our best players at our club." Johnson has scored 12 goals in 40 league games for Everton, but has yet to find the target in eight England appearances. Everton visit 1. FC Nürnberg in their next UEFA Cup Group A game on Thursday.
