Basel snap up promising Ferati

FC Basel 1893 have signed highly rated Switzerland Under-21 defender Beg Ferati from FC Concordia Basel on a three-and-a-half year contract.

Ferati, who turned 21 on Saturday, will move to Basel in the January transfer window from the team currently fifth in Switzerland's second-level Challenge League. If UEFA Cup Group D leaders Basel go through to the Round of 32 in February, they will be able to register Ferati for the rest of the competition. Basel continue their group campaign against SK Brann on 5 December and visit Hamburger SV two weeks later.
