Sion comeback
The Swiss international left Sion to join Bundesliga side Werder Bremen in 1997, moving on to Hamburg in December 2001 via a brief spell in Spain with Club Atlético de Madrid. Wicky, 30, played 126 Bundesliga games for Hamburg, scoring four goals, yet he has been plagued by injuries and saw his chances of first-team football diminish under coach Huub Stevens. Sion are currently third in the Swiss Super League, having finished in the same position last season to earn a place in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup. They drew 1-1 in the first leg of their opening tie against Austria's SV Ried with the return in Geneva scheduled for 30 August.
