Partizan disqualified from UEFA Cup

FK Partizan have been disqualified from the 2007/08 UEFA Cup after their appeal against expulsion was rejected – meaning NK Zrinjski have been reinstated.

FK Partizan have been disqualified from the 2007/08 UEFA Cup after their appeal against their punishment relating to the first qualifying round first-leg match against NK Zrinjski in Bosnia-Herzegovina on 19 July was rejected by the UEFA Appeals Body.

Appeal rejected
Partizan were disqualified from the UEFA Cup by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body last month for the conduct of their supporters during the first leg in Mostar. The Belgrade club were also fined €30,056. After an appeal by Partizan, the punishment was delayed and they were able to play the second leg of the tie, completing an 11-1 aggregate victory, but with the proviso that they would be eliminated if they lost their appeal. Zrinjski will therefore meet FK Rabotnicki in the second qualifying round, with the first leg in F.Y.R. Macedonia on 16 August and the return a fortnight later.
