Ustari heralds new dawn for Getafe

Michael Laudrup has wasted no time in making an impression at Getafe CF after capturing promising Argentinian goalkeeper Oscar Alfredo Ustari for a club record fee in the region of €6m as Miguel Pallardó and Pablo Hernández join on loan from Valencia CF.

Prodigious talent
The 21-year-old Ustari arrives from CA Independiente on a reported six-season contract as Laudrup seeks to make his mark on the side following his appointment on Monday, replacing the Real Madrid CF-bound Bernd Schuster. A prodigious talent, the Buenos Aires-born keeper departs his first club after seven years having come through the youth ranks before making his first-team debut in 2005. He drew immediate plaudits, going on to play a key role in the Argentina side that claimed the FIFA U-20 World Cup that year, and did not have to wait long before his call-up to the senior international setup as he was named in the 2006 FIFA World Cup squad.

Valencia starlets
Ustari's arrival at the Coliseum Alfonso Peréz seems to underline Laudrup's intentions for Getafe, his signing announced on a day on which two other youngsters, Pallardó and Hernández, join on loan for the campaign. A former Spanish youth international, the 20-year-old Pallardó is a midfielder with UEFA Champions League experience with Valencia, which bodes well for his new side's upcoming UEFA Cup campaign. Attacking midfielder Hernández, 22, spent last season on loan with Cádiz CF and on signing for Getafe explained: "It's fantastic to be here. I'm not thinking of using this club as a trampoline for my career. I've come here to grow, to work hard and to enjoy my football."
