Pienaar loaned out to Everton

UEFA Cup contenders Everton FC have signed South African midfielder Steven Pienaar on loan from BV Borussia Dortmund until the end of the coming season.

Ajax heritage
The 25-year-old joined Dortmund from AFC Ajax last summer but will move to the Premier League to help Everton as the Liverpool-based side start their UEFA Cup campaign in the first round after finishing sixth last season. The 23-times capped international, who joined Ajax from Ajax Cape Town during the 2000/01 season, is the second new arrival at Goodison Park this summer following the €6m signing of versatile defender Phil Jagielka from relegated Sheffield United FC.
