RCD Espanyol's UEFA Cup hopes have been dented by the news they will travel to AS Livorno Calcio without key men in Iván de la Peña, Raúl Tamudo and Jônatas.

RCD Espanyol's UEFA Cup hopes have been dented by the news they will travel to AS Livorno Calcio without three key performers in Iván de la Peña, Raúl Tamudo and Jônatas.

Calf crisis
Playmaker De la Peña, 30, has failed to shake off the calf injury that he sustained during Sunday's 2-0 Primera División win at RC Celta de Vigo – the same problem which sidelined Tamudo at the weekend and which the 29-year-old forward has been unable to overcome in time for the trip to Italy. Brazilian midfielder Jônatas, 24, has also been omitted from Ernesto Valverde's squad for Wednesday's Round of 32 first-leg tie having damaged his left calf in the defeat by Real Zaragoza on 3 February.
