The 26-year-old, who graduated from the club's youth department in 1999, has made 138 league appearances for Espanyol, scoring just once in the 2002/03 campaign. During his time with Los Periquitos he has won the Copa del Rey twice, in 1999/00 and 2005/06. García has also played in Espanyol's UEFA Cup games against FC Artmedia and FK Austria Wien this season. The Spanish side won 2-1 in the away leg of their Round of 32 tie against AS Livorno Calcio on Wednesday night. The aggregate victors will face PFC CSKA Moskva or Maccabi Haifa FC in the last 16.
