The former Bosnia-Herzegovnian international striker arrived at the BayArena last May after six seasons at Hamburger SV. He has proved a valuable addition, scoring four times in 21 matches and bringing his experience to the forward line as shown in the 3-2 home defeat of Blackburn Rovers FC on Wednesday. The victory left Leverkusen with a good chance of reaching the UEFA Cup last-16 before next Thursday's return. In a further boost, Brazil defender Juan could play in that contest having returned to training after a muscle injury.
