International class
Rosenberg has already appeared in this season's UEFA Cup so will not be eligible for Bremen when they meet Ajax over two legs in the Round of 32 next month. The Sweden forward, who scored 12 goals in 40 league games after moving to Amsterdam in summer 2005, has penned a contract with the Bundesliga leaders until 2011.
Striking problems
Bremen general manager Klaus Allofs said: "Markus Rosenberg is fast, technically strong and good in the air - he can add new elements to our game. At Ajax he was not first choice recently, but we are convinced of his abilities." The 24-year-old Malmö FF product will help fill a gap in Bremen's attack with Ivan Klasnić requiring a kidney transplant and Mohamed Zidan having departed for 1. FSV Mainz 05.
