A second Blackburn Rovers FC player has suffered a broken leg in as many games, combative midfielder Robbie Savage joining Dutch defender André Ooijer on the sidelines.
Inspirational
While Ooijer has been ruled out for the season, in the wake of Saturday's injury at Manchester City FC, Blackburn are still waiting to learn how long they will be without Savage, one of their most inspirational players. The Welshman, 32, sustained the blow in the second half of last night's 2-1 Premiership defeat at Watford FC, prompting manager Mark Hughes to say: ""We have heard from the hospital it is a break. How severe it is, we don't know yet.
'Devastated'
"We are devastated for Robbie. He has played very well this year and it is a huge blow for him and for us. It's come on top of a performance and a result we weren't expecting so it has not been a good evening." Savage seems certain to miss at least the UEFA Cup Round of 32 tie against Bayer 04 Leverkusen, although Rovers reportedly fear he will not play again this term.
