AS Nancy-Lorraine have signed Youssouf Hadji from Ligue 1 rivals Stade Rennais FC, bringing the forward back to the club where he started his career.
Unknown fee
The 26-year-old Moroccan international has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with Nancy, who are expected to pay a fee of €1-2m for his services. Hadji began his professional career with the club between 1998 and 2003 before moving on to SC Bastia and then Rennes in the summer of 2005.
UEFA Cup pedigree
He played 83 league games for Rennes, scoring three times, and also represented the Breton club in last season's UEFA Cup, scoring once in three appearances. Nancy take on Ukrainian giants FC Shakhtar Donetsk in their UEFA Cup Round of 32 tie next month, with Hadji eligible to be registered for the tie.
